Candidate Forum & Propositions - Meeting Thursday May 15, 7 - 9 PM Our May 15 meeting will feature brief speeches by and the opportunity to question candidates for various elected offices including the judgeships. Our area includes the 2nd Supervisorial district (Bernard Parks, Mark Ridley - Thomas), the race for Sheila Kuehl's State Senate seat*, the district attorney's race and numerous judicial contests. The other Democratic offices have no significant primary opposition. Some candidates for county committee may also come. Campaign literature and judicial endorsement information will be available. *The Steering Committee has voted to endorse Assembly Member Fran Pavley for this State Senate seat. We can vote to make additional endorsements at this meeting. Anyone wishing to speak should contact Vice President Bea Steelman at (310) 559-3749 if they have not already done so. When time permits (this summer), I will figure out how to upload previous "The Prez Says..." columns from my files. - SN Keep Your Eyes on the Goal!The presidential campaign recently featured jabs and attacks between our candidates and calls for one or the other to quit soon so that there will be "unity" to win in November. The timing of the choice between them does not make much difference. What matters is that we remember that the differences between Senators Clinton and Obama are minor in comparison with their differences with Sen.
