May 21 Meeting: "The Employee Free Choice Act"

Glen Arnodo, Staff Director of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, will speak to us and answer questions on labor's primary legislative goal for this year: to enact the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).  Bills are being considered in both the Senate and House: S.560 (Kennedy, MA) and H.R.1409 (George Miller, CA). Each seeks to amend the National Labor Relations Act to establish an efficient system to enable employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts, and for other purposes.
