Oct. 15 Meeting: Food and Water Policies and the Consumer

"Food and Water Policies and the Consumer" will be the topic of the next Westwood-Westside Democratic Club Meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2009, 7 - 9 PM, in Community Room A of the Westside Pavilion, 10800 W. Pico Blvd., third floor (behind the food court), L.A. 90064.
Renee Maas, the local Water Programs Organizer for Food and Water Watch, a nonprofit organization, will describe her organization’s many projects at the local, state and federal level to get better laws and regulations to improve our food and water supply. She will also provide consumer guides to seafood, other foods and water. Should we eat Chinese chickens? Milk from cows fed growth hormones? For more information, you can go to the group’s website,
www.foodandwaterwatch.org. Bring your friends, family, questions and opinions on these vital issues.
