May 20 - June Primary Election Meeting

Next Meeting (and Endorsements)

California Democratic Primary Propositions & Candidates

A speaker from the League of Women Voters will discuss the five statewide propositions on the June primary ballot and perhaps Prop. E (property tax increase for the L.A. school district). The advertising has been quite misleading. The California Democratic Party recommends opposing three of the five. If you can, please read them in advance and come and discuss them. We will also meet and ask questions of candidates and surrogates for Superior Court judgeships and some  other offices (47th A.D., etc.). If appropriate motions are made and adopted, the club may endorse local and statewide candidates and/or take a position for or against various propositions. We did not take any positions at our April 10 meeting due to insufficient participation. Please see below for more information on this election.

DATE: Thursday, May 20, 2010, 7 - 9 PM

PLACE: Westside Pavilion, Community Room A. 10800 W. Pico Blvd. at Overland Avenue, Los Angeles 90064. On the third floor, off the corridor between the food court and the free parking structure south of the mall. Free and open to the public. Coffee, tea and cookies. Some of us meet between 5:45 and 6:45 for dinner, dessert or just talk at the interior end of the food court (away from the play area). Join us!
